Cicada

Tupelo Community Theatre will present Cicada, by award winning Tupelo native Jerre Dye, on January 26, 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. and January 28th at 2 p.m. at the Lyric Theatre.

The Chicago Tribune’s review of Cicada said “Dye’s voice is most definitely authentic and his understanding of trauma and loss palpable.” Chicago Theatre Review described the play as “a poetic southern drama riding over waves of angst and anger, laced with moments of unexpected humor. The play takes place in rural Mississippi in July 1974 and deals with isolation where memories become real moving the audience backward and forward in time.

The play contains language some patrons may find offensive. Tickets go on sale to the public at Noon on Monday, January 16th and may be purchase by calling the TCT office at 844-1935.
