Love Letters at TCT Off Broadway

TCT Off Broadway will present Love Letters by A.R. Gurney at 7:30 p.m. on February 17 and 18 at 213 East Franklin Street. The play shares the story of Andrew and Melissa, both born to wealth and position, who are childhood friends. The duo share a lifelong correspondence, many times physically apart, but spiritually as close as only true lovers can be. The play is evocative, touching, and frequently funny. Tickets are $20 each, include the first drink and may be reserved by calling the TCT office at 844-1935.

TCT Youth Production Auditions

TCT Off Broadway will hold auditions for its youth production of On the Radio on Monday, February 20th and Tuesday, February 21st at 5:30 p.m. in the rehearsal hall of the Lyric Theatre. From the Depression and WWII to Elvis, the Beatles and disco, the radio is where America hears the songs that become the soundtracks of their lives. This musical features 6 “top hits” with short scenes for boys and girls in grades 4th-8th. Students will work on a song from the play as a group as part of the audition. Love Letters Auditions

TCT Off Broadway will hold auditions for Love Letters by A. R. Gurney on January 22 at 3 p.m. and 23 at 6:30 p.m. at 213 East Franklin Street. The play is comprised of letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people who grew up together, went their separate ways, but continued to share confidences. As the actors read the letters aloud, what is created is an evocative, touching, frequently funny but always telling pair of character studies in which what is implied is as revealing and meaningful as what is actually written down. The cast calls for one man and one woman 30 years of age or older and no advance preparation is needed. John McCustion will direct and production dates are February 23, 24, and 25th. TCT Off Broadway New Year’s Eve Celebration

TCT Off Broadway will present its first Red Carpet Masquerade on December 31 at 9:00 p.m. at 213 East Franklin in Tupelo. Tickets are $20, which will include one free drink and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. This event is open to adults 21 and older. TCT Off Broadway will present Company by Stephen Sondheim’s on November 10-12 at 7:30 pm at 213 East Franklin Street. From musical theatre’s most renowned composer, Company is largely regarded as a trailblazer and the winner of seven Tony Awards On the night of his 35th birthday, confirmed bachelor, Robert, contemplates his unmarried state. Over the course of a series of dinners, drinks and even a wedding, his explain the pros and cons of taking on a spouse. The play contains language and situations that some patrons may find offensive. Auditions for The Halloween Trilogy

TCT Off Broadway will hold auditions for The Halloween Trilogy by Cecilia Fannon and John de Lancie on Wednesday, October 12 and Friday, October 14th at 6:30 each evening at 213 East Franklin. The cast calls for men and women high school age and older. The play is a radio reading using a silhouette aspect for visual fun and is scheduled to have only two rehearsals. The format promises to be enjoyable for newcomers and veterans of the stage alike. It includes Edgar Allan Poe’s The Cask of Amontillado, Rudyard Kipling’s The Mark of the Beast, and Oscar Wilde’s The Canterville Ghost.
