Cody Slaughter in Concert

Tupelo Community Theatre and the Tupelo Elvis Fan Club will present Cody Slaughter in concert at the Lyric Theatre September 22. Slaughter is hailed as one of the most talented, young Actors, Singer and Elvis Tribute Artist in the country. Born and raised in Harrison, Arkansas, gateway to the beautiful Ozark Mountains, Cody Slaughter began entertaining at the young age of 13. A true Southern boy, Cody’s true passion for Elvis’ music and memory has directed his career path. Special Guest Chance Moore will open the concert at 6:15 with doors open at 5:30. Auditions for The Marvelous Wonderettes

Tupelo Community Theatre will hold auditions for the smash off-Broadway hit The Marvelous Wonderettes, created by Roger Bean, June 10th at 2 pm. and June 11 at 6 p.m. in the rehearsal hall of the Lyric Theatre. The musical takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where we meet four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! Later the Wonderettes reunite to take the stage and perform at their ten-year reunion. Featuring over 30 classic ’50s and ’60s hits, The Marvelous Wonderettes will keep you smiling in this must-take musical trip down memory lane! The cast is made up of adult women ages 18-40 and must be able to sing. No advance preparation is necessary. Christi Houin will direct, with David East as musical director. Music, Monet and Margaritas

The Lyric Krewe, Tupelo Community Theatre’s support organization, will present their 15th Annual Street Fiesta, Music, Monet, and Margaritas, on June 2nd from 7:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. The event will be on Broadway in front of the Lyric and will include music by the Jam Band and a silent auction of local artist’s work. Tickets are $25 and include food provided by Outback steakhouse and your first drink TCT also needs volunteers to help with set-up, gate, bar, food, or clean up, Work for two hours and enjoy the event on us! Disney’s The Lion King JR

Tupelo Community Theatre will present its summer youth production of Disney’s The Lion King JR, with music and lyrics by Elton John and Tim Rice, June 21st and 22nd at 7:30 p.m. and 23rd at 2 p. m. at the Lyric Theatre in downtown Tupelo. Based on the Broadway production the show has captivated the imagination of audiences around the world and now, for the first time ever, TCT has the opportunity to produce this one-of-a-kind musical. The African savannah comes to life on stage with Simba, Rafiki and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle… and back again, in this inspiring, coming-of-age tale. Angel Street

Tupelo Community Theatre will present the drama Angel Street at TCT Off Broadway, 213 East Franklin Street, June 14th, 15th and 16th at 7:30 p.m. A Broadway hit first produced on the West End under the title Gaslight and filmed twice, Angel Street tells the story of the Manninghams, who live on Angel Street in 19th century London. Patrick Hamilton, the author, has built and sustained some of the most brilliant, suspenseful sequences in modern theatre. “I have just seen the theatre really come alive for the first time this season. One of the most satisfying theatre adventures of the last decade.” – New York News. Auditions for Angel Street

Tupelo Community Theatre will hold auditions for Angel Street by Patrick Hamilton on April 9 and 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the rehearsal hall of the Lyric Theatre. Angel Street tells the story of the Manninghams, who live on Angel Street in 19th century London. As the curtain rises, all appears to be the essence of Victorian tranquility but their lives are not what they seem. The show calls for 2 men who are 30 and older and 3 women who are 20 and older. No advance preparation is needed but a copy of the script may be checked out. A British accent is preferred. Debby Gibbs will direct and production dates are June 14-16 at TCT Off Broadway. Everyone will be required to sing and read from the script but no advance preparation is needed.
