Love, Loss and What I Wore

TCT Off Broadway will present Love, Loss and What I Wore by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, based on the book by Ilene Beckerman , on July 20-22 at 7:30 p.m. at 213 East Franklin Street. The winner of the 2010 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience the play proves that a great show is always in fashion. With its compulsively entertaining subject matter the show uses clothing and accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and often poignant stories that all women can relate to, creating one of the most enduring theatergoing experiences domestically and overseas. Tickets are $20 each and a cash bar will be available. The play contains a limited about of language that some patrons may find offensive. Shrek The Musical Jr.

Tupelo Community Theatre’s will present its summer youth production of Shrek The Musical JR. on June 22 and 23 at 7:30 p.m. and June 24 @ 2 p.m. at the Lyric Theatre on Broadway in downtown Tupelo. Everyone’s favorite ogre is back in this hilarious stage spectacle, based on the Oscar-winning smash hit film and outrageous Broadway musical. Auditions for The Robber Bridegroom

Tupelo Community Theatre will hold auditions for The Robber Bridegroom, with music by Robert Waldman, book and lyrics by Alfred Uhry and based on the novella by Eudora Welty, on Sunday, June 11 at 2:00 pm and Monday, June 12 at 6:00 pm in the Lyric Theatre rehearsal hall located at 201 N. Broadway. Set in eighteenth-century Mississippi, the show is a rousing, bawdy Southern fairytale from the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Driving Miss Daisy and one of the only genuine bluegrass scores in a Broadway musical. No advance preparation is needed but those auditioning will be taught and asked to sing part of a song from the show. An accompanist will be provided. There will also be cold readings from the script. The cast is made up of 5 males and 4 females ages 21 and up. Jennifer Cummings will direct and the production dates are Aug 24-26. Music, Monet, and Margaritas 2017

Volunteer for MMM 2017

The Lyric Krewe, Tupelo Community Theatre’s support organization, will present their 14th Annual Street Fiesta, Music, Monet, and Margaritas, on June 10th from 7:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. The event will be on Broadway in front of the Lyric and will include music by the Mary Frances Massey Band and a silent auction of local artist’s work. Tickets are $25 and include food provided by Outback steakhouse and your first drink TCT also needs volunteers to help with set-up, gate, bar, food, or clean up, Work for two hours and enjoy the event on us! Hairspray The Musical

Tupelo Community Theatre will present Hairspray The Musical on April 27-29 at 7:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m. on April 29th at the Lyric Theatre. Winner of 8 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, the story is set in 1962 Baltimore where dance-loving teen Tracy Turnblad auditions for a spot on “The Corny Collins Show” and wins. She becomes an overnight celebrity, a trendsetter in dance, fun and fashion. Perhaps her new status as a teen sensation is enough to topple Corny’s reigning dance queen and bring racial integration to the show. Summer Youth Theatre Auditions

Tupelo Community Theatre will hold auditions for its summer youth production
of Shrek The Musical JR. on March 27 and 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the rehearsal
hall of the Lyric Theatre. Everyone’s favorite ogre is back in this
hilarious stage spectacle, based on the Oscar-winning smash hit film and
outrageous Broadway musical. Those auditioning for this large cast should be
rising third graders through high school seniors. Everyone will be required
to sing and read from the script but no advance preparation is needed.
Production dates for the show are June 22-24 Danielle Adams will direct.

On The Radio Youth Production

TCT Off Broadway will present a youth production of On the Radio on March 31
and April 1 at 7:30 p.m. at 213 East Franklin. Welcome to KYDZ, the radio
station that plays the hits while you sing along! From the Depression and
WWII to Elvis, the Beatles and disco, the radio is where America hears the
songs that become the soundtracks of their lives including Ain’t We Got
Fun?, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Footloose, Hound Dog, and Sgt. Pepper’s
Lonely Hearts Club Band. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and
