Tupelo Community Theatre will present the drama Angel Street at TCT Off Broadway, 213 East Franklin Street, June 14th, 15th and 16th at 7:30 p.m. A Broadway hit first produced on the West End under the title Gaslight and filmed twice, Angel Street tells the story of the Manninghams, who live on Angel Street in 19th century London. Patrick Hamilton, the author, has built and sustained some of the most brilliant, suspenseful sequences in modern theatre. “I have just seen the theatre really come alive for the first time this season. One of the most satisfying theatre adventures of the last decade.” – New York News. Auditions for Angel Street

Tupelo Community Theatre will hold auditions for Angel Street by Patrick Hamilton on April 9 and 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the rehearsal hall of the Lyric Theatre. Angel Street tells the story of the Manninghams, who live on Angel Street in 19th century London. As the curtain rises, all appears to be the essence of Victorian tranquility but their lives are not what they seem. The show calls for 2 men who are 30 and older and 3 women who are 20 and older. No advance preparation is needed but a copy of the script may be checked out. A British accent is preferred. Debby Gibbs will direct and production dates are June 14-16 at TCT Off Broadway. Tupelo Community Theatre will hold auditions for its Off Broadway production of Angel Street in spring of 2018. The cast calls for adult men and women ages 20 and older. A Broadway hit first produced under the title Gaslight and filmed twice, the play tells the story of the a couple who live in 19th century London. All appears to be the essence of Victorian tranquility but it is soon apparent the husband is slowly driving his gentle, devoted wife to the brink of insanity. The author, Patrick Hamilton, has built and sustained some of the most brilliant, suspenseful sequences in modern theatre.
