Auditions for The Odd Couple-Female Version

 Tupelo Community Theatre Off Broadway will hold auditions
for The Odd Couple, Female Version by Neil Simon
on May 20 and 21 at 6:30 p.m. at 213 East Franklin Street.
In Neil Simon’s hilarious contemporary comic classic,
Florence Unger and Olive Madison are at it again. Instead of
the poker party that begins the original version, Ms. Madison
has invited the girls over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit.
The Pidgeon sisters have been replaced by the two Constanzuela
brothers. But the hilarity remains the same.
Roles are available for two men and six women, 25 years
of age and older. No advance preparation is needed.

Music, Monet and Margaritas

The Lyric Krewe, Tupelo Community Theatre’s support organization, will present their 16th Annual Street Fiesta, Music, Monet, and Margaritas, on June 15th from 7:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. The event will be on Broadway in front of the Lyric and will include live music and a silent auction of local artist’s work. Tickets are $25 and include food provided by Outback steakhouse and your first drink.  BankPlus is the sponsor.

Mamma Mia auditions

Auditions for Mamma Mia will be announced soon.  Tupelo Community Theatre will hold auditions for the long running Broadway musical Mamma Mia,  with music and lyrics by Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson and book by Catherine Johnson, on Wednesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 23 at 6 p.m. in the rehearsal hall of the Lyric Theatre.

Over 60 million people worldwide have fallen in love with the characters, the story and the music that make Mamma Mia! the ultimate feel-good show.  The musical  includes the  Abba songs Honey, Honey, Dancing Queen, The Name Of The Game, Money, Money, Money, SOS, Knowing Me, Knowing You,  Take A Chance On Me, I Have A Dream and a dozen more.

Mamma Mia is an adult production and is open to men and women who can sing and dance.  Those auditioning must be at least a sophomore in high school in fall of 2019.  No advance preparation is needed, music from the show will be taught during the auditions.  Those auditioning should be prepared to sing in groups and solo and a dance audition may be required.   Tom Booth will direct with Debra Robison as musical director and production dates for the show are August 22-24, 2019.  More  detailed information about cast posted at or email the director at [email protected].

The True Story of the Three Little Pigs

Tupelo Community Theatre will present the youth production of The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by Robert Kauzlaric, Paul Gilvary, and William Rush on May 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. and May 18 at 2 p.m. at TCT Off Broadway 213 East Franklin Street. Every story has two sides and when the Big, Bad Wolf takes the stand in Piggsylvania’s Trial of the Century, he finally gets his say. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and younger and may be purchased by calling the TCT box office at 662-844-1935.

Ladies and Gentleman! Come one! Come all! Join us under the big top this summer for a circus themed week at Tupelo Community Theater.  We will learn the origin and uses of theater, art, and music through discussion of the characters of this year’s play. Another original children’s play written by Danielle Frerer Ratliff, this funny and thoughtful show is sure to be a hit with both kids and audiences!

Our camp director and theater instructor is Danielle Frerer Ratliff, actor at TCT and music teacher/showchoir Director at Tupelo High School.  Our Art instructor is Pat E. Parker, art teacher at Tupelo High School. Our music instructor is Claire Leeke, music professor at Northeast Community College.

TCT’s theater camp for 2019 will be held July 8-12, with two sessions each day. Rising 1st-4th graders will meet each morning. Rising 5th-8th graders will meet in the afternoons. The cost of the camp is only $100 for TCT Season Members and families with more than one sibling attending. Non-member cost is $125.

TCT Volunteer Intern
