TCT THEATER CAMP  JULY 8-12, 2019 

Ladies and Gentleman! Come one! Come all! Join us under the big top this summer for a circus themed week at Tupelo Community Theater.  We will learn the origin and uses of theater, art, and music through discussion of the characters of this year’s play. Another original children’s play written by Danielle Frerer Ratliff, this funny and thoughtful show is sure to be a hit with both kids and audiences!

Our camp director and theater instructor is Danielle Frerer Ratliff, actor at TCT and music teacher/showchoir Director at Tupelo High School.  Our Art instructor is Pat E. Parker, art teacher at Tupelo High School. Our music instructor is Claire Leeke, music professor at Northeast Community College.

TCT’s theater camp for 2019 will be held July 8-12, with two sessions each day. Rising 1st-4th graders will meet each morning. Rising 5th-8th graders will meet in the afternoons. The cost of the camp is only $100 for TCT Season Members and families with more than one sibling attending. Non-member cost is $125.

TCT Volunteer Intern

Tupelo Community Theatre is seeking an intern for summer volunteer work.  The intern would be involved in all aspects for operations, both administration and artistic.  A scholarship is available and more information can be found at www.tct.ms, by emailing [email protected] or calling the TCT office at 844-1935

The Addams Family

Tupelo Community Theatre will present The Addams Family, A New Musical Comedy,  music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, on April 25th, 26th, and 27th at 7:30 p.m. and a matinee at 2 p.m. on April 27th  at the Lyric Theatre.  A fresh, new musical about love, family, honesty and growing up, featuring America’s darkest and quirkiest family.  The Addams must deal with many of the same challenges faced by any other family – their kids are growing up and when beloved daughter Wednesday falls in love with a normal guy from Ohio disaster and hilarity are sure to follow.  And with songs like When You’re An Addams, One Normal Night and Full Disclosure audiences will be drawn into the story even more.  Season ticket members may purchase or claim their tickets anytime.  Tickets go on sale to the public on April 8th and are $25 for adults and $10 for students and younger.  For more information or to purchase call the TCT ticket office at 844-1935. 

Season Tickets on sale NOW!

Season tickets for the 50th anniversary 2019-2020 season are now on sale for Tupelo Community Theatre at the Lyric on Broadway.  The season includes Mamma Mia, August 22-24, 2019,  A Christmas Story,  December 12-14, 2019,  Of Mice and Men,  January 23-25,  2020,  Moon Over Buffalo,  March 5-7, 2020 and  Spamalot,  April 23-25, 2020.  Season tickets begin at $60 for all 5 shows, a 46% discount over individual tickets.  The renewal deadline is June 21th and priority for seating is given based on the date tickets are purchased.  Information and order forms are available at www.tct.ms or by calling the TCT box office at 662-844-1935. 

Scholarships

Tupelo Community Theatre offers four $500 scholarships each year to students attending Mississippi high schools and universities.  Students must complete at least 12 hours each semester (or its equivalent if on the quarter system) and maintain at least a 2.5 GPA.  Details about each scholarship and the application form may be obtained at www.tct.ms . Applications must be received no later than April 15th.  Recipients will be notified by June 1st .  For more information contact the TCT office at 844-1935.
