Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf Auditions

Tupelo Community Theatre will hold auditions for Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf by Edward Albee September 20th at 6 p.m. at 213 East Franklin Street. Winner of the 1963 Tony Award for Best Play, the Broadway production of this play was a shattering and memorable experience and proclaimed the author as a major American playwright. The play has been described as a scorching, scalding, revealing and completely engrossing drama and a brilliant piece of writing. The story involves a professor at a small college and his wife who have returned home drunk from a party. The wife announces that she has invited a young couple, an opportunistic new professor at the college and his shatteringly naïve new bride, to stop by and the charade begins when they arrive. The cast includes 2 men and 2 women at least 21 years old. Production dates are November 15-17 at TCT Off Broadway and Tom Booth will direct. If you are unable to attend the September 20th audition contact the director at [email protected] or call the TCT office at 844-1935 for additional information.
