The Rocky Horror Picture Show

TCT Off Broadway will present an interactive, audience participation showing of the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show on October 31st at 7:30 at 213 East Franklin Street.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a 1975 British-American musical screwball comedy horror film which is based on the 1973 musical stage production of the same title. The production is a parody tribute to the science fiction and horror B movies of the 1930s through to the early 1970s. The film stars Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, and Barry Bostwick. The story centers on a young engaged couple whose car breaks down in the rain near a castle where they seek a telephone to call for help. The castle is occupied by strangers in elaborate costumes celebrating an annual convention. They discover the head of the house is Dr. Frank N. Furter, an apparent mad scientist who actually is an alien who creates a living man in his laboratory.

Tickets for the October 31st event are on sale. Only 100 will be sold, adults $20, students $10. No students under the age of 15 allowed without parent. Doors open at 7 p.m. and a cash bar will be available. For more info or to purchase tickets call 662-844-1935.

The 39 Steps at TCT Off Broadway

NOTE-PRODUCTION DATES HAVE CHANGED

If Alfred Hitchcock’s favorite film was Airplane or Monty Python and the Holy Grail, he might have given us this version of The 39 Steps debuting at TCT Off Broadway in October. The play, based on Hitchcock’s 1935 film and John Buchan’s adventure novel, takes the classic spy story and turns it on its ears, having four actors play dozens of roles, breaking the fourth, fifth and sixth walls all in the name of hilarity.
Ben Eakes stars as Richard Hannay, a man looking for some excitement in his life and gets more than he bargained for when he meets Annabella (Haley Agnew). And Margaret (Haley Ag-new). And Pamela (Haley Agnew). Hannay is on the run from a murder he didn’t commit, and the police are hot on his trail. Or are they? John McCustion and Remy Duvalier co-star in his tale of intrigue, mistaken identity and sweaty, exhausted actors when The 39 Steps takes the stage at TCT Off Broadway Ocotober 19-21. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students and younger. Call the TCT office at 844-1935 to reserve tickets.
