The Trip to Bountiful

By Horton Foote • The Trip to Bountiful tells the poignant story of Carrie Watts, a woman in the twilight of her life sharing an apartment with her controlling daughter-in-law and hen-pecked son. Carrie’s fervent wish – just once before she dies – is to revisit Bountiful, the small Texas town of her youth which she still refers to as home. There are plenty of laughs and some tears, too, as Mrs. Watts finally gets her wish.

With candor, humor, and insight, the show explores the issues that confront many young people today. With its topical subject manner, multi-ethnic cast of actors, singers, dancers and instrumentalists and high-energy, contemporary pop score (which includes the hit title song), FAME JR. is an ideal musical for young performers.
