The 39 Steps at TCT Off Broadway

If Alfred Hitchcock’s favorite film was Airplane or Monty Python and the Holy Grail, he might have given us this version of The 39 Steps debuting at TCT Off Broadway in October. The play, based on Hitchcock’s 1935 film and John Buchan’s adventure novel, takes the classic spy story and turns it on its ears, having four actors play dozens of roles, breaking the fourth, fifth and sixth walls all in the name of hilarity.
Ben Eakes stars as Richard Hannay, a man looking for some excitement in his life and gets more than he bargained for when he meets Annabella (Haley Agnew). And Margaret (Haley Ag-new). And Pamela (Haley Agnew). Hannay is on the run from a murder he didn’t commit, and the police are hot on his trail. Or are they? John McCustion and Remy Duvalier co-star in his tale of intrigue, mistaken identity and sweaty, exhausted actors when The 39 Steps takes the stage at TCT Off Broadway Ocotober 19-21. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students and younger. Call the TCT office at 844-1935 to reserve tickets.
