The Marvelous Wonderettes
August 23-25, 2018 • Created by Roger Bean
The Marvelous Wonderettes takes a cotton candy-colored musical trip down memory lane to the 1958
Springfield High School prom where we meet The Wonderettes – four girls with hopes and dreams as big
as their crinoline skirts. The show follows their lives and loves from prom night to their 10-year reunion. The score has more than 20 chart-busting hits such as “Dream Lover,” “Lollipop,” and “It’s My Party” that will have you tapping your foot and wanting to sing along.

The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe
December 6-8, 2018 • Dramatized by Joseph Robinette from the story by C.S. Lewis
This dramatization of C.S. Lewis’ classic novel set in the land of Narnia, recreates the magic and mystery of the great lion Aslan and his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of Peter, Susan, Lucy, and Edmund. A story of love, faith, courage and giving, with its triumph of good over evil, The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe is a true celebration of life.

The Glitter Girls

Join us for the Mississippi premier of Mississippi native Mark Dunn’s latest comedy, The Glitter Girls.
This southern comedy takes the audience through a specially called meeting of a north Georgia social
club called “The Glitter Girls.” The club’s richest member, Trudy Tromaine (who is at death’s door)
convenes the meeting to express her wishes to bequeath some of her millions to one lucky “Sister of
the Gleam and Sparkle.”

Season tickets are now on sale for the 2017-2018 productions at Tupelo Community Theatre at the Lyric on Broadway. The season includes The Robber Bridegroom August 24-26, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever December 7-9, Last Train to Nibroc January 25-27, Blithe Spirit March 8-10, and Hello Dolly April 26-28. Season tickets begin at $60 for all 5 shows, a 46% discount over individual tickets. The renewal deadline is July 7th and priority for seating is given based on the date tickets are purchased. Love, Loss and What I Wore

TCT Off Broadway will present Love, Loss and What I Wore by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, based on the book by Ilene Beckerman , on July 20-22 at 7:30 p.m. at 213 East Franklin Street. The winner of the 2010 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience the play proves that a great show is always in fashion. With its compulsively entertaining subject matter the show uses clothing and accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and often poignant stories that all women can relate to, creating one of the most enduring theatergoing experiences domestically and overseas. Tickets are $20 each and a cash bar will be available. The play contains a limited about of language that some patrons may find offensive. Music, Monet, and Margaritas 2017

Volunteer for MMM 2017

The Lyric Krewe, Tupelo Community Theatre’s support organization, will present their 14th Annual Street Fiesta, Music, Monet, and Margaritas, on June 10th from 7:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. The event will be on Broadway in front of the Lyric and will include music by the Mary Frances Massey Band and a silent auction of local artist’s work. Tickets are $25 and include food provided by Outback steakhouse and your first drink TCT also needs volunteers to help with set-up, gate, bar, food, or clean up, Work for two hours and enjoy the event on us! Award winning Cicada performance

Tupelo Community Theatre’s award winning production of Cicada, by Amory native Jerre Dye, will present a final performance of the show on Monday, February 27 at 7:30 p.m. at TCT Off Broadway 213 East Franklin. The cast will perform the 60 minute cut version of the play they will perform at the Southeastern Theatre Conference Community Theatre Festival in Lexington, Ky. The Cicada cast was awarded Best Ensemble Acting, with Jennifer Cummings winning Best Supporting Actress and Lisa Martin Outstanding Achievement in Acting. The show also won Best Production. This is TCT’s 6th year in a row to represent Mississippi at the SETC regional festival. Tickets are $20 and may be reserved by calling the TCT office at 844-1935.

Season Opening Production-Peter and the Starcatcher

Tupelo Community Theatre will open it’s 2016-17 season with the multiple Tony Award winning production of Peter and the Starcatcher, by Rick Elice based on the novel by Dave Barry & Ridley Pearson. Get “hooked” with this wildly theatrical play with music prequel to the story of Peter Pan. Peter and the Starcatcher upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan comes to be The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up. Production dates are August 25-27 at 7:30 p.m. and a matinee at 2 p.m. on August 27. The play is directed Danielle Adams. Tickets are $22 for adults and $10 for students and go on sale at Noon on Monday, 15th by calling 844-1935

Back to School Trivia Tournament

TCT Off Broadway will present its 2nd annual Back To School Trivia Tournament on August 18 at 7:30 at 213 East Franklin. Doors open at 7 p.m. and Trivia will begin at 7:30 with teams of 5-10 people and prizes for the winning team and best team name.. Tickets are $15 and include one free drink. Tables may be reserved by teams by calling 844-1935.
