Auditions for The Marvelous Wonderettes

Tupelo Community Theatre will hold auditions for the smash off-Broadway hit The Marvelous Wonderettes, created by Roger Bean, June 10th at 2 pm. and June 11 at 6 p.m. in the rehearsal hall of the Lyric Theatre. The musical takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where we meet four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! Later the Wonderettes reunite to take the stage and perform at their ten-year reunion. Featuring over 30 classic ’50s and ’60s hits, The Marvelous Wonderettes will keep you smiling in this must-take musical trip down memory lane! The cast is made up of adult women ages 18-40 and must be able to sing. No advance preparation is necessary. Christi Houin will direct, with David East as musical director. The Marvelous Wonderettes

The Marvelous Wonderettes takes a cotton candy-colored musical trip down memory lane to the 1958
Springfield High School prom where we meet The Wonderettes – four girls with hopes and dreams as big
as their crinoline skirts. The show follows their lives and loves from prom night to their 10-year reunion. The score has more than 20 chart-busting hits such as “Dream Lover,” “Lollipop,” and “It’s My Party” that will have you tapping your foot and wanting to sing along.

The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe

The Glitter Girls

This southern comedy takes the audience through a specially called meeting of a north Georgia social

she has invited his family to their home for dinner. In one fateful hilarious night, secrets are disclosed, relationships are tested, and the Addams family must face up to the one horrible thing they’ve managed to avoid for generations – change.

Auditions for Angel Street

Tupelo Community Theatre will hold auditions for Angel Street by Patrick Hamilton on April 9 and 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the rehearsal hall of the Lyric Theatre. Angel Street tells the story of the Manninghams, who live on Angel Street in 19th century London. As the curtain rises, all appears to be the essence of Victorian tranquility but their lives are not what they seem. The show calls for 2 men who are 30 and older and 3 women who are 20 and older. No advance preparation is needed but a copy of the script may be checked out. A British accent is preferred. Debby Gibbs will direct and production dates are June 14-16 at TCT Off Broadway. Auditions for Disney’s Lion King Jr

Tupelo Community Theatre will hold auditions for its summer youth production of Disney’s The Lion King JR. at the Lyric Theatre on April 30 at 6:30 for third grade through fifth and May 1 at 6:30 p.m. from sixth through ninth grade. Everyone will be required to sing and read from the script but no advance preparation is needed. Disney’s The Lion King brings the African savannah to life on stage with Simba, Rafiki and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle… and back again, in this inspiring, coming-of-age tale. Auditions for Broadway Beat

TCT Off Broadway will hold auditions for Broadway Beat on February 26 and 27 at 5:30 p.m. at 213 East Franklin Street.

The show includes musical highlights from over a century of song and dance including Hairspray, The Music Man, The King and I, Wicked, Rent and Grease, and a medley of favorites from George M. Cohan! No advanced preparation is needed but students should be 4th grade through high school.

Auditions for Hello, Dolly!

Tupelo Community Theatre will hold auditions for Hello, Dolly!, music and lyrics by Jerry Herman and book by Michael Stewart, on January 29th and 30th at 6 p.m. at the Lyric Theatre. The blockbuster Broadway hit, bursts with humor, romance, high-energy dancing, and some of the greatest songs in musical theater history. The romantic and comic exploits of Dolly Gallagher-Levi, turn-of-the-century matchmaker and “woman who arranges things,” are certain to thrill and entertain audiences again and again. The show’s memorable songs include “Before the Parade Passes By,” “Hello, Dolly!,” and “It Only Takes a Moment.” The play has numerous adult roles for men and women of all ages. Those auditioning must be at least 10th grade. Everyone will be taught a portion of a song from the show and read from the script. No advanced preparation is required but you may pick up music for auditions any time after Noon on January 8th.
