Auditions for Hello, Dolly!

Tupelo Community Theatre will hold auditions for Hello, Dolly!, music and lyrics by Jerry Herman and book by Michael Stewart, on January 29th and 30th at 6 p.m. at the Lyric Theatre. The blockbuster Broadway hit, bursts with humor, romance, high-energy dancing, and some of the greatest songs in musical theater history. The romantic and comic exploits of Dolly Gallagher-Levi, turn-of-the-century matchmaker and “woman who arranges things,” are certain to thrill and entertain audiences again and again. The show’s memorable songs include “Before the Parade Passes By,” “Hello, Dolly!,” and “It Only Takes a Moment.” The play has numerous adult roles for men and women of all ages. Those auditioning must be at least 10th grade. Everyone will be taught a portion of a song from the show and read from the script. No advanced preparation is required but you may pick up music for auditions any time after Noon on January 8th. Last Train to Nibroc

Tupelo Community Theatre will present Last Train to Nibroc by Arlene Hutton on January 25-27 at 7:30 p.m. and January 27 at 2 p.m. at the Lyric Theatre. In December 1940, an east-bound cross-country train carries May, who shares her seat with a charming young flyer, Raleigh. Religious and bookish, May plans to be a missionary.
